Our Journey
I Am Phoenix was born from a shared vision between sisters, Tara and Blair — two passionate women who grew up in the family-friendly suburb of Winston Hills with a strong desire to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives.
From a young age, they were driven by purpose. Tara always wanted to become a councillor, while Blair dreamed of changing the world for the better. Though their early career paths were different, their hearts remained in the same place — with people.
Blair pursued a career in graphic design, building over 10 years of experience across design, printing, social media and brand production. Tara became a powerhouse in retail, managing four of the largest stores for a leading Australian discount retailer. With over 12 years of leadership experience, she was responsible for everything from large teams to complex logistics.
Their professional paths crossed again when Tara transitioned into the role of Operations Manager for an NDIS provider, and Blair joined her — supporting participants, managing digital media, merchandise and communications. It was during this time that they were reminded of their childhood dreams, now reshaped by life experience and maturity.
As they watched their own family members and loved ones grow older — facing new challenges, struggling with daily tasks, and often missing out on the joys they once loved — they knew they had to act. Alongside their third co-founder, they committed to a new journey: one rooted in compassion, care, and empowerment.
Together, they studied hard and earned their Certificate IV in Aged Care, and began the meticulous, heart-driven process of building I Am Phoenix — an aged care service grounded in real-life experience, empathy, and respect.
Today, I Am Phoenix is a proud, government-approved in-home aged care provider, dedicated to helping seniors live their best lives — on their terms. We are not a faceless organisation; we’re real people with strong family values, raised in loving homes and surrounded by community. We’ve surrounded ourselves with a team of like-minded individuals who share our commitment to delivering exceptional care and support to Australia’s ageing community.
